Tehran, May 17, IRNA -- Acting Commander of the Air force, Brigadier
General Iraj Osareh said here Wednesday that the Iranian Air force
is equiped with the most sophisticated equipment in terms of
technology.
Addressing a press conference, he said that 'Azarakhsh' war planes
as well as 'Dorna' and 'Parasto' training planes have reached the
stage of mass production so that the fifth Azarakhsh plane is being
built and the other four are flying at the moment.
Also, the third Dorna and the 11th, 12th and 13th Parasto
training planes are being manufactured at present. The first 10
Parsto planes are being flown.
Turning to the missile technology of the country, he said all
the air-to-air, air-to surface and surface-to-air missiles are being
built in the country according to the modern and up-to-date
technology.
General Osareh added that the Air Force personnel have
upgraded or changed the function of the missiles Iran possesses.
Further elaborating on other achievements of the Air Force, he
said various missiles are being deployed on various planes, adding
that Eastern-made missiles are used in Western-manufactured
aircraft and vice versa. This, he added, is a manifestation of high
expertise and specialized personnel of the Air Force in designing and
software.
He said the Air Force carries out manufacture of one third of the
parts or 80 percent of its general needs and is among the very few
world countries in producing aircraft tyre.
General Osareh said that in the manufacture of the required
pieces, the Air Force benefits from cooperation of Isfahan, Sharif
(Tehran) and a number of other technical universities within the
country.
He said that certain European countries assist Iran in the
transfer of aircraft technology, including avionic, in the light of
their satisfactory relations with the Islamic Republic.
Underlining Iran's startegic position in the region, General
Osareh said today the Iranian Air Force enjoys high dynamism and
flexibility and is in a very suitable condition.
On future programs of the Air Force, General Osareh said
employment of modern tactics in air battles is among furture plans of
the Air Force.
