On Thursday, November 23, a session was held on 'cultivation of book reading' in the Complex of Milad Noor also celebrating the publication of Simin Behbahani's new book.
Mehdi Gharacheh Daghi, translator in a short speech, emphasized on the importance of holding such sessions for introducing the new published books and enumerated the points necessary for 'cultivation of book reading.'
Then Simin Behbahani read some of her latest poems published in her new book 'One Is For Example'.
Mohamad Houghoughi, poet and scholar was the next speaker talking about Simin Behbahani. Enumerating the three major pillars of Farsi poetry, Hafez, Sadii and Molavi, he noted their influence on subsequent poets of this country and added: "In the same way as Nima reached a new style in poetry by breaking the old rules and regulation in this respect, Behbahani also has introduced quite a few innovations to the contemporary lyric. She has introduced rhythms to the contemporary lyrical poetry that had never been used before. The new vocal music of her lyrics, the novel images and compositions she has used are quite significant and deserve further analysis. It is quite possible to claim that ever since the invention of Indian style no poet has managed to achieve as much as Behbahani in the context of language, elaboration, imagery and composition. With introducing 30 new and unique compositions Behbahani has achieved a great work in respect to the possibilities of Farsi lyrical poetry."
The session was ended again by Behbahani reading some of her poems.
