Kermanshah, Dec 26, IRNA -- Head of Kermanshah province Seismographic
center Hojjatollah Qassemi said here on Thursday that ever since the
province was hit by a quake measuring 5.3 degrees on the Richter
scale last Tuesday, 15 more after-shocks have been recorded.
Qassemi told IRNA that the strongest after-shock measured 4.2,
3.0 and 2.9 degrees on the Richter scale.
The 5.3 degree quake striking part of the province at 20:33 on
Tuesday night was centered at Dinvar district, 50 kms northeast of the
provincial capital city of Kermanshah.
Simultaneous after-shocks were, meanwhile, reported in Hamedan
and Kurdestan provinces.
The after-shock in Dinvar district, Kermanshah province inflicted
heavy material loss including 3,000 demolished houses at villages,
while 15 individuals were wounded.
A great number of the residents of the damaged village of Dinvar
currently live in tents.
