Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Mehdi Karroubi on Sunday
described the recent arrests of Iranian immigrants in the US as `a
shameful measure and a flagrant violation of human as well as civil
rights'.
Karroubi, speaking before Majlis open session, said the arrests
contradicted US fake concerns for human rights, and called on the
country to end the issue.
"One can never expect such violent, inhumane, illogical and unjust
measures against an educated, honorable and hard-working immigrant
minority in the US," Karroubi said.
"Such pressure on Iranians in the US is because of the fact that
they come from a country that refuses to bow to US dominance, and
follows an ideology to which the US officials have become sensitive."
