Tehran, Nov 29, IRNA -- A prominent member of the leading Mosharekat
(participation) Party said here on Friday that the Islamic rule of
promotion of the good deeds and demotion of the evil acts equals the
need to keep alive the spirit of criticizing in a society, which
voids occurrence of socio-political blockades.
Former security deputy interior minister Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh
who was speaking on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of
Imam Ali (PBUH) under the title "Imam Ali and His Enemies" added,
"promotion of the good deeds and demotion of the evil acts is a social
responsibility and we have no option, but yielding to it."
He said that the erroneous interpretation of certain powerful
circles for this Islamic rule has led to leaving a very negative image
of it in the minds of the Iranian citizens.
Tajzadeh emphasized, "if the Islamic system in Iran would face
serious problems one of the major causes of it is misusing this great
Islamic task."
He believes the reason why other societies are ahead of ours in
many fields is that criticism is thoroughly guaranteed there, which
is an Islamic value that is mainly ignored in our Islamic society.
Tajzadeh referred to the democratic method applied by Imam Ali
(PBUH) in ruling the vast Islamic society in his days, when not only
religious despotism, that is the worst kind of all dictatorships had
no chance of taking roots, but the most democratic political system in
the history of mankind, too, was presented as a model for all times.
"Even the fact that Imam Ali (PBUH) was an infallible Imam did not
lead to imposing any type of hegemony by the Imam over the Muslims,"
he added.
Elsewhere in his speech, Tajzadeh referred to the full security
enjoyed by Imam Ali's supporters and political opponents alike
throughout his rulership, that is a cause to be proud of for the Shias
of Imam Ali, who must follow suit.
"None of Imam Ali's devoted followers, or sworn enemies can set an
example of resorting to unethical methods by him in pursuing any
objective," he added.
Tajzadeh said that the reason why opportunist figures have not
succeeded in ensuring any high positions as elected personalities
in Iran today, is the socio-political alertness of the nation.
Condemning the 9/11 terrorist acts in US, he said, "that attack
led to the unjust labeling of the Muslims as terrorists.
He further condemned harsh and aggressive approaches under any
circumstances in today's global conditions when rationalism in the
bare necessity of all human beings.
