Brussels, Oct 14, IRNA -- Denmark is set to become the first
country in Europe to host the Iranian-produced Zam-Zam
Cola.
Having conquered a sizeable share in the Middle Eastern market,
Zam Zam is ready to take Europe by storm, and Denamrk is set to become
its first continental venue, the Danish news agency Ritzau reported
Monday.
Ritzau quoted the daily newspaper Politiken as saying that
Denmark will open for business with Zam Zam in conjunction with Syria
and Lebanon. Zam Zam is now sold in Bahrain, Iraq, Pakistan and
several African countries.
Politiken quoted Zam Zam director of marketing Bahram
Kheiry, who said that the company has entertained a flood of
enquiries from France, Canada, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Increasingly in the past several months, considerable chunks of
the Muslim world's consumer markets have staged a boycott against
American products in protest of US support to Israel in the ongoing
Middle East conflict.
Multinational mammoths, including fastfood chains McDonald's
and KFC, have paid the price in lost market shares, as have the
Cola giants.
Seventeen Iranian factories have moved in to take their place,
scrambling to produce enough Zam-Zam to meet the demands of the Muslim
market.
In just four months, Politiken reported, Zam Zam has produced
10 million bottles of Zam Zam for export to Saudi Arabia and other
Persian Gulf countries.
