Managing directors of three Persian language dailies appeared at the Court of Civil Servants' Offenses on Wednesday to respond to charges brought up against their publications, IRNA reported from Tehran.
Managing Director of `Kayhan' Hossein Shariatmadari was at the court to be informed of several counts of complaint raised against his daily.
Daily Kayhan wrote in its Wednesday edition that Shariatmadari had been summoned to the court on the strength of a complaint, lodged against his daily by the Blood Refining and Research Company, for publication of a report on a blood complicity case.
Tehran's Prosecutor and several private entities are among plaintiffs against Kayhan.
Managing Director of daily `Siasat-e Rouz' Ali Yousefpour provided necessary explanations at Bench Five of the Court of Civil Servants' Offenses for printing a report on resignation of Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mostafa Moeen.
Managing Director of daily `Etemad' Elias Hazrati also appeared at the Bench Six of the Court to defend the case of his daily against which a complaint has been lodged by General Headquarters of Armed Forces for printing an insulting photo and article.
