A number of Tehran Municipality's experts, left for Iraq on Friday in the framework of a fully equipped municipal services caravan to assist their counterparts in Holy Najaf's Municipality, IRNA reported.
Led by engineer Mehrdad Arab, the deputy mayor and technical affairs head of the district 4 of Tehran, the Iranian municipal experts delegation is equipped with a number of special rural services machines, trucks, and special vehicles for washing the streets and pavements' surfaces.
Speaking to IRNA, District 4 Mayor Nader Karami said, "The caravan is scheduled to assist the Holy Najaf Municipality's experts, particularly in offering rural services, cleaning the general area of Imam Ali PBUH's sacred shrine, and offering consultations to their Iraqi counterpart brethren regarding technical municipality affairs."
Karami added, "Currently there is sufficient manpower in Iraq and what is needed there is engineering expertise and equipment in various fields, and our colleagues dispatched there are all top experts in their fields, each with long years of experience."
He said, "During a recent trip a short while ago by mayors of different districts of Tehran to holy cities of Iraq, it was agreed hat Tehran's District 4 would assist in municipal affairs of the Holy Najaf, and Tehran's District 15 would assist their counterparts in Holy Karbala.
Meanwhile, over 50 of the servants of Imam Hussain's Holy shrine on Monday visited the Holy Shrine of Saint Abdol Azim in Shahr-e-Rey, and are scheduled to visit Imam Reza's Shrine in Mashhad.
