The U.N's Jordan Bureau issued a communique announcing that the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has come to terms with the US ruler of Iraq, Paul Bremer regarding the return of the Iraqi refugees from Iran to their country, IRNA reported from Ilam, Iran.
The Saudi based Radio Free Iraq (RFI) that announced the news on its Monday night news, added, "The return of the Iraqi refugees in Iran is a phase in a more general plan pursued by the UNHCR that also includes the return of the Iraqis from Various European countries and Jordan."
According to the FRI report, the U.N. Bureau in Jordan has also announced in its communique that the voluntary return of the Iraqi refugees from Iran, based on the UNHCR's plan, will start as of mid September.
The civilian American ruler of Iraq Paul Bremer had earlier this month announced that he was considering a plan regarding the return of the Iraqi refugees from Iran.
In U.N. Jordan Bureau's communique on the issue, the total number of Iraqi immigrants and refugees in Iran, Jordan and Europe is estimated to sum up to over 600 thousand Iraqi citizens.
