Presidential Advisor and head of Women's
Participation Center at the Presidential Office Zahra Shojaie said
in Tehran on Monday that life expectancy among Iranian women has increased by
ten years, IRNA reported.
Addressing wives of foreign-based Iranian representatives, Shojaie
quoted World Bank's (WB) statistics as putting the rate of Iranian
women's participation in social affairs at 14.8 percent this year,
saying the rate would rise to 25 percent in the next six years.
Shojaie said that amendment to laws on families and employment
would give a further boost to women's participation rate.
She said that life expectancy among Iranian women has increased by
ten years.
She added that number of female-exclusive technical and vocational
centers has risen to 197 from 41 before the 1979 Islamic Revolution,
and of women's cooperatives centers by 203 percent to 1,793 from 507
