Woman cyclist of Iran, Poupeh
Mahdavi-Nader, who is on a world tour arrived in Washington on Thursday, IRNA reported.
Talking to reporters, the female cyclist said she started her
tour 5.5 months ago and has so far pedaled 3,570 kilometers.
Mahdavi started in the Vatican City and plans to pedal toward the
holy Mecca and participate in the Hajj rituals.
She revealed her slogan as "Love, Friendship, and Global Peace",
adding that the main goal behind her tour is to raise funds for the
Iranian orphans and unattended children.
The cyclist has up to now passed Italy, France, and Britain and
intends to leave the United States for Japan and then New Zealand,
China, the Netherlands, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
