An earthquake measuring 4.5 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale shook the city of Jahrom in Fars province on Thursday night, IRNA reported from Shiraz.

The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute affiliated to Tehran University said the tremor occurred at 23:01 hours local time (18:31 GMT).

There were no reports of any casualty or damage caused by the quake.
