The second International Nuclear Sciences and Technology Congress with cooperation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be held in Shiraz, southern Iran, on 27-30 April, it was announced in Tehran on Monday, IRNA reported.
New improvements and achievements in nuclear technology sciences, some fields of developing and using nuclear technology and economic aspects of this type of energy will be reviewed by experts and specialists in the Congress.
Nuclear technology use in agriculture, environmental studies, radiotherapy know-how, nuclear fuel, management of radioactive wastes, safety verification of nuclear power plants, observing related standards and protecting staff of nuclear plants against radiations are among the issues which will be discussed in the Congress.
The Congress will be held by Shiraz University, Iran's Atomic Energy Agency and sponsored by Fars general governor office, the Environment Department of the province, Bushehr Nuclear Plant and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
People interested in contributing to the Congress debates should send their papers to the secretariat of the Congress located in the Engineering Faculty and Nuclear Engineering Department of Shiraz University not later than February 20.
