Kuwait's Energy Minister Ahmad al-Fahd said in Kuwait City on Monday that his recent comments on Iran and Kuwait's shared off-shore oil field Arash (Ad-Dowrah) have been misinterpreted by journalists, IRNA reported.
The dispatches had earlier quoted al-Fahd as saying that if the diplomatic efforts aimed at solving the dispute between Iran and Kuwait on off-shore Arash oil field will not lead to finding a solution, Kuwait "may" refer the case to international sources for making the final judgment.
The Kuwaiti energy minister added in his Monday remarks that Kuwait and the Islamic Republic of Iran have already reached a common stand on how to exploit the Arash oil field.
According to the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd, before leaving Kuwait for Geneva to take part at the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meeting, emphasized on the ongoing excellent relations with Iran, and expressed hope they will keep improving.
He added, "Kuwait favors continuation of bilateral relations and cooperation with Iran at topmost excellent level."
The Kuwaiti energy minister further emphasized, "The bilateral agreement reached between Iran and Kuwait on Arash oil field needs to be implemented."
The huge off-shoe Arash oil and gas field is located at the sea boarder of Iran-Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf.
