A relatively moderate earthquake shook parts of the central Isfahan province Tuesday afternoon, with no immediate report of property damage or casualties, IRNA reported from Tehran.
The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered a tremor with the intensity of 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale at 14:42 (1112 GMT).
Local seismological bases centered it south of the town of Khour.
Another earthquake measuring 4.6 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the city of Zarrin Dasht in the southern Province of Fars on Tuesday morning.
The Fars seismological base, affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, registered the epicenter of the tremor which occurred at 2:27:24 hours local time in Ha'ji-Abad, capital of Zarrin Dasht.
General governor of Zarrin Dasht confirmed the tremor and said some residential units of the city have been damaged.
Seyed Mohammad Moussavi called for setting up a Red Cressent Society center in Zarrin Dasht.
Zarrin Dasht, having some 70,000 residents, is located 300 km southeast of Shiraz city.
