An earthquake measuring 3.9
degrees on the Richter scale, shook the southern Iranian city
of Kazeroun in Fars province with no immediate report of damage, IRNA reported.
Fars Seismological base, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute
of Tehran University, registered a tremor at 11:05 (0735 GMT) and
put its epicenter 113 km west of the provincial capital Shiraz
around Kazeroun.
Earthquakes are frequent in Iran, a nation with more than 60
million.
