Managing Director of National Iranian Drilling Company Seyfollah Jashnsaz said in Tehran on Thursday that of 95 wells scheduled to be drilled this year 87 have thus far been drilled and repaired, IRNA reported.
Jashnsaz told a press conference that more than 1,800 wells have been drilled and repaired from 1979 to 2002.
He said that since March 21, marking start of the new Iranian calendar year of 1382, the NIDC has drilled more than 218,000 meters of wells.
The official said that the NIDC is expected to earn a revenue of rls 2,500 billion this year, of which 80 percent has already been met.
He said that the NIDC has procured 35 percent of its equipment through tender.
He put the value of contracts the NIDC has signed at dlrs 275 million, saying the company has also drilled more than 117 wells.
