Managing Director of Iran's Red Crescent Society in Tehran Hamid-Reza Dehghan said here Friday that the society is ready to receive people's donations for the victim of the devastating and fatal quake in Bam, IRNA reported from Tehran.
Speaking to IRNA, he said all bases of the society are ready to collect peoples' aid round the country.
The victim families are in dire need of blankets, heaters, foodstuffs and warm clothes, he said.
The special account no. 702070 in Bank Melli has been dedicated for those Iranian living abroad to aid the victims, he said.
The strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 on the open-ended Richter scale rocked the city of Bam in Kerman province at 5:28 hour local time (0158 GMT) on Friday.
Several aftershocks, at least one up to 5.3 degrees on Richter scale, hit the quake-stricken city of Bam after the 6.3-degree quake rocked the city.
Red Crescent pools facilities nationwide to aid quake victims
Managing Director of Iran's Red Crescent Society Ahmad-Ali Nourbala said in Kerman on Friday that the society has dispatched all its potential facilities to the scene of the devastating quake in Bam.
Crisis management headquarter have been formed in Tehran and Kerman, he said.
The nearby provinces have been organized to urgently despatch their relief aid to Bam, he said.
