Destruction of Buddha's statues in Bamiyan was a tragedy and a cultural crime. But it was first the women and then the statues that were demolished. Buddha's Tears is the story of those women and their painful journey to Australia. Shiraz Theatre's previous productions, The Wandering Nightingale and Antigone, were received well by audiences and the critics in Canberra. Buddha's Tears will be another vibrant and dynamic work from Shiraz Theatre.
