The Golestan Family, in memory of Kaveh Golestan and his efforts towards photography in Iran, will be giving three awards, annually.

The categories are:

1. The best Photo Essay(report) with a human look
2. The best single Photo
3. Special jury award to a young talent

the time for the first annual prizes will be Autumn 1838 (2004) and the prize will be given by Gallery Golestan. Simultaneously, at the time of ceremony, an exhibition/show of the best photos that have been received will take place at Golestan gallery.

The following people will assist Golestan Family in this task as consultants: Ms. Rana Javadi, Mr. Bahman Jalali, MR. Mohammad Farnoud, Mr. Kaveh Kazemi and Ms. Pari Sima Mayel-Afshar.

Aksnameh Quarterly, which had previously announced a similar award project in memory of Kaveh, has withdrawn its offer in honor of ther Golestan Family and will give its full cooperation to the family for carrying out this undertaking.

Further information and details for entering the competition will be announced in a press conference in October of this year.
