Water consumption in Tehran crosses 273-million-cubic meter mark

Total water consumption in the capital since the start of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21) to July 12 reached 273.868 million cubic meters, the Public Relations Office of the Tehran Province Water and Sewage Company reported Sunday, IRNA reported from Tehran.

According to the office, Tehranis last week and up to July 20, consumed over 19.341 million cubic meters of water, up by ten percent compared to the previous week's consumption.

Sixty-three percent of the water consumed in Tehran yesterday came from dams while the rest came from other sources, said the report.

Water in the Karaj, Lar and Latian dams has reached an aggregate of 599 million cubic meters as of the report.
