Substitute leader of the Tehran Friday
Prayers Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati called on the Judiciary to refine its
methods of discharging justice, IRNA reported from Tehran.
Addressing thousands of worshipers gathered at the Tehran
University campus for the weekly congregational prayers, Ayatollah
Jannati said the noble and justice-seeking judges in the judiciary
might commit unintentional mistakes which dissatisfy people.
"these weaknesses will discourage people towards judiciary and
government," he said.
He admitted that in certain cases the judiciary happened to deal
with small offenses while some bigger ones have been ignored, and said
thus the need for such purification in judiciary sounds vital.
The move will help people trust the justice-seeking aspirations in
the judiciary, he said, predicting that the valuable performance of
the judiciary will bear fruit in the future.
On recent unrests in the country, he said such move was
predictable since the Americans have always supported fall of the
Islamic system.
He appreciated the judiciary, security and police force as well as
officials of the higher education who collectively prevented spread of
unrests in the country.
He called on the Judiciary to adopt tough measures against
trouble-makers who were behind the recent unrests in the country.
The offenders should know the price they have to pay for their crimes
and offenses, he warned.
The US is now fomenting unrest in Iran, he said, adding that they
should understand that the Islamic Iran will not be toppled by such
unrests.
"Goerge W. Bush and Tony Blair should understand that the Iranians
will sacrifice themselves for their religion and in case their supreme
leader gives such verdict, they will welcome it wholeheartedly", he
underlined.
The US is now seeking to stir up unrest in our country and dealing
with such move should be considered as a campaign against US and UK,
he said.
He called on the US administration to stop threats and avoid
resorting to the issue of weapons of mass destruction.
"We are to benefit from technological know how to serve our
people", he said, adding that "history testifies that we have never
welcomed war and aggression."
On Palestine, he said that the issue is now worsening day by day
and the Israel imposes more pressure on Palestinians, but the Israelis
who enjoy support of the Americans have failed to attain their goals
and even caused the Palestinians to become more vigilant and united,
Jannati said.
The more the US exerts pressure over Palestine and Iran , the more
consolidated will become these peoples, he underlined.
Those who enjoy US support will arouse ire of people in the
country, he concluded.
