Iran volleyball team denied visa, cancels Italy trip
Iran's youth volleyball team was left behind the closed doors as the Italian Embassy in Tehran did not issue visas, IRNA reported.

Italy is hosting an international volleyball tournament on July 2-5.

Iran, Germany, and Tunisia have been already invited by the Italian federation to take part in the tourney.

In his talks with IRNA, Iran's Volleyball Federation President Mohammad-Reza Yazdani-Khorram said his office sent a fax to the Italian federation, announcing that the Iranian side was denied visa and canceled the trip.

The Italian federation officials had promised that the National Olympic Committee of the European country would make necessary arrangements for issuance of visa but it did not, added Yazdani-Khorram.

Iran is preparing for the World Youth Volleyball Championships Tehran will host in August.
