On Friday, March 21, 2003, our beloved teacher and mentor,
Mr. Khalil M. Dilmaghani(1932-2003) passed away in Los Angeles,
California,USA. He was a noted theater critic and professor in
Tehran University where he taught in the Department of Dramatic
Arts from 1963 to 1985. Khalil Dilmaghani wrote and directed
numerous plays in Iran which were staged all over the country and
shown in national TV.
Mr. Dilmaghani established Kanoon-e Theater in 1989 in Los Angeles
where he trained many students of Persian theater and staged
many plays. Kanoon-e Theater, under the supervision of Mr.
Dilmaghani, reviewed the history of Persian modern theater starting
from 150 years ago to the contemporary era. Kanoon-e Theater members
offer their condolensces to the family of Mr. Dilmaghani, his
friends, and all of those who love theater.
The Memorial services for Mr. Dilmaghani (1932-2003) will be held on
Saturday Night (March 29, 2003), in Pacific Arts Center, from 4:00 p.m. to
8:00 p.m.
