Iranian journalists on Saturday condemned
the US bombing of the Iraqi television's main station in Baghdad,
stressing that the attack was 'a confession to defeat,' IRNA reported from Tehran.
Iran's Society for the Defense of the Press in a statement urged
the parties involved in the Iraq crisis not to restrict the
dissemination of information on the conflict, and not to prevent
reporters from informing the public about the developments of the war.
The spokesman of the society, Mashallah Shamsolvaezin, said the US
bombing of Baghdad TV was a confession of defeat against the power of
mass media, stressing that Iranian journalists join international
bodies to condemn the measure.
"The society calls on the `coalition forces' to adopt all possible
measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents," he concluded
in the statement.
