Iran-Italy trade up 4 percent in 2002

Tehran-Rome trade volume rose by four percent to more than 3.676 billion euros in 2002 compared to that in the year 2001, IRNA reported from Rome.

Italian Statistics Center said on Friday that Italy exported 1.797 billion euros worth of goods to Iran last year in exchange for 1.879 million euros worth goods.

Trade balance with Italy was 82 million euros in Iran's favor last year.

Crude oil and natural gas were major items Italy imported from Iran last year, earning the latter 1.67 billion euros.

Furthermore, industrial equipment, worth 511 million euros, were major items Italy exported to Iran in the year.
