Young weightlifters of Iran postponed their
Tuesday's trip to Mexico as the Tehran-based embassy of South American
country did not issue their visas, IRNA reported from Tehran.
Iran's Weightlifting Federation (IWF) had earlier announced that
the first group of lifters would depart for Mexico on May 27. The IWF
President Ali Moradi and the federation Secretary Darab Riahi were to
accompany the team.
Moradi is the technical supervisor of the World Youth
Weightlifting Championships in Mexico and the Iranian physician Asghar
Shahabi is a member of the Medical Committee of the competitions.
On Monday, the federation named eight for the world championships.
starting on June 1.
Iran comprises Mehdi Dorri, Mahmoud Esmaeilzadeh, Omid Naeij, Ali
Dehqanian, Abdolreza Fouladivandi, Rashid Sharifi, Matin Mehdi Raki,
and Mohammad Salehi.
