Iranian and EU officials held a one-day meeting in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss economic and investment issues, IRNA reported.
''The talks were very positive, cordial and business-like,'' Kia Tabatabai, Director-General for economic affairs at Iran's foreign ministry, told IRNA in an interview.
He said the main topics discussed in the experts group included different aspects of trade, investments and technical issues, import prices, etc.
All the topics that we discussed were meant to give a clear picture to the EU side of how the system works in Iran, said Tabatabai who led the Iranian side at the meeting.
"We called on the European side to get more actively involved in investment sectors of our economy. We presented them with the latest acts and regulations adopted by Iran to attract foreign investments,'' he told IRNA.
The EU-Iran economic and investment experts group formed in 2002 gets together twice a year.
The main aim of the group is to bring the views of Iran and the EU closer to each other vis-a-vis the different sectors of economy and regulations and laws in Iran.
It is an informative gathering of experts, he explained. Top officials from Iran's Central Bank and trade and finance ministry took part in the 4th experts' group meeting. The EU side was led by the Director General of Trade Klaus Falkenberg.
