An earthquake, measuring 3.9 degrees on the Richter scale, shook the city of Yasouj in the southwestern province of Kohkilouyeh and Boyerahmad on Wednesday, IRNA reported from Tehran.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, said the tremor, epicentered in an area 30 km north of Yasouj, occurred at 03:08 hours local time (2308 GMT Tuesday).
Meanwhile, another earthquake, measuring 4.6 degrees on the Richter scale, jolted the city of Semirom in the central province of Isfahan early Wednesday.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, said the tremor occurred at 02:51 hours local time (2321 GMT Tuesday).
There were no reports of any casualty or damage caused by the quakes.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic ault lines and quakes of varying magnitude are of usual occurrence.
