Sanandaj, Kurdestan prov, Nov 23, IRNA -- An Iranian economic delegation made up of officials from Kurdestan province Commerce Department and Sanandaj Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines left for the Iraqi city of Sulaimaniya on Sunday.
Head of Kurdestan province Commerce Department Bahman Hadj-Ali said that the visiting Iranian delegation aims to assess the prospect of cooperation between Kurdish tradesmen of both countries and prepare the grounds for establishment of a permanent Iranian trade center in the Iraqi city.
Before leaving for Sulaimaniya, Hadj-Ali told IRNA that Iran's trade center, which will be established in an area of 2,200 square meters, aims to promote the level of Iran's export to its neighboring country and facilitate contact between the Iranian exporters and producers with their Iraqi counterparts.
He added that the authorization for the establishment of Iran's trade center in Sulaimaniya has been issued by Export Promotion Center of Iran.
The official said that the products will be sold to Iraqi tradesmen in bulk and they will then sell them to the public in retail.
"Given the continuous follow-up in this respect, the trade center is expected to be put into operation within a few days," he concluded.
