Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said in Tehran on Sunday that Iran has tightened security around the compounds of the British Embassy in Tehran following reported firebomb attacks at the embassy, IRNA reported.
Asefi, speaking at his weekly press briefing, said the Foreign Ministry has asked the related organizations to forward their data about the reported attacks and verify those developments, stressing that no response had been received yet.
He added that he was not in a position to confirm the incidents "given that the issue is sensitive".
"Such attacks are carried out by those who want to portray the country as unstable but the Islamic Republic will never accept such activities," Asefi said.
