An earthquake with an intensity of 3.5 degree on the Richter scale jolted the city of Bojnourd in the northeastern province of Khorassan early Monday, IRNA reported.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to the Tehran University, said the tremor, epicentered in an area 240 km northwest of the provincial capital city of Mashhad, occurred at 02:52 hours local time (2322 GMT Sunday).
There were no reports of any casualty or damage caused by the quake.
Two earthquake measuring 4.8 and 4.6 degrees on the Richter scale shook the city last week.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
