A member of a German parliamentary delegation which visited Iran last week, called the recent political talks with high-ranking Iranian officials "very positive," IRNA reported from Berlin.
"As a whole it (the trip) was very positive, we had constructive talks and I was very surprised how openly we were received and how all important issues were discussed," Harald Leibrecht of the opposition Free Democratic Party (FDP) told IRNA here Wednesday in phone interview.
The liberal MP pointed out that talks focused on "sensitive issues" such as Iran's nuclear program, the Mideast conflict and Iran's human rights situation.
Leibrecht said both sides "discussed intensely" the issues, calling it a "progress compared to previous times".
The German delegation met with leading Iranian political figures during their four-day stay among them Majlis Speaker Hojjatoleslam Mehdi Karroubi and the Chairman of the Majlis Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Mohsen Mirdamadi.
The latest visit followed a recent trip by a group of Iranian MPs to the German capital Berlin.
