Canadian parliamentary delegation due in Iran


A Canadian parliamentary delegation is to arrive in Tehran on Saturday night for talks with Iranian parliamentarians and a number of state officials, IRNA reported.

During its two-day stay here, the delegation, headed by Vice Chairman of Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade of House of Commons Stockwell Day, will hold separate meetings with Head of Majlis Commission for National Security and Foreign Affairs Mohsen Mirdamadi, representatives of Majlis religious minorities and women faction in the Majlis.

The delegation is also expected to meet with Vice-President Masoumeh Ebtekar and a number of Iranian officials at Foreign Ministry.

The Canadian parliamentarians will attend a panel on political and parliamentary issues and another one in the presence of experts and researchers.

The Canadian delegation will leave Tehran for Riyadh on Monday.
