The Chinese Charge d'Affaires to Tehran said
he expected the volume of exchanged goods between Iran and China
to rise to over dlrs 5 billion by the end of the current Iranian
calendar year of 1382 (ending March 19), IRNA reported.
Talking to IRNA Tuesday, he said the figure showed an increase of
60 percent as compared to the same period last year.
He referred to the volume of trade between the two countries in
the past Iranian year as dlrs 3.7 billion.
According to the Chinese diplomat, Iran exported oil, dried fruits
and construction stones to China and imported clothes and chemicals
from it.
Iran also gets use of Chinese government credits in building its
subway network in Tehran, dams and power plants and many other areas,
he added.
Touching upon the recent gathering in China between Iranian
and Chinese businessmen, he said the tradesmen from both countries
reviewed economic and trade capacities of the two countries.
Hailing Iran's decision to sign the NPT Additional Protocol, he
stressed that his country supported Iran in its peaceful nuclear
activities.
The diplomat further pointed to the numerous historical sites
in both countries and said Iran and China could cooperate in tourism.
