An aircraft belonging to Iranian armed forces crashed late Wednesday in the vicinity of the city of Zanjan about 300 kms northwest of Tehran, IRNA reported.

An official in the the provincial governor's office Hossein Beegham told IRNA the training plane, an F4, from the 'Noujeh' air force base, near Hamedan, crashed 60 miles southeast of the city. The pilot and co-pilot were killed in the incident.

Beegham said rescue team has been dispatched to the crash site. There are no reports on the cause of the incident.
