President Mohammad Khatami's proposed minister of sciences, research and technology, Reza Faraji Dana, is to appear before Majlis on Tuesday to seek vote of confidence for a two-year ministerial term, IRNA reported from Tehran on Monday.
The 43-year-old candidate born in Qom was proposed by President Khatami on August 24 to replace the former science minster, Mostafa Moin.
Faraji Dana, a graduate of Tehran University Technical Faculty majoring in electricity and holding masters and doctorate degrees from Canadian Waterloo University will appear before Majlis along with President Khatami to defend his proposed programs and prove his authenticity.
He appeared before members of Majlis Education and Research Commission on Monday to reply to their questions on his proposed working program.
The ministerial candidate was assigned as dean of Tehran University Technical Faculty in 1998 and took charge as the chancellor of Tehran University last year.
