Non-oil export revenues in the first five months of the Iranian year 1382 (started on March 21) rose by 25.7 percent to dlrs 2.313 billion, IRNA reported from Saveh in Tehran province.
Head of Iran`s Customs Administration Masood Karbasian told IRNA in Saveh on Wednesday that exports through border markets had a share of dlrs 246 million and through luggages-on trade dlrs 21 million in the total revenues in the period under study.
Karbasian said that in the first five months of the year, dlrs 225 million worth of pistachios, dlrs 179 million worth of gas condensates, dlrs 177 million worth of hand-woven carpets, dlrs 151 million worth of industrial products, and dlrs 107 million worth of iron and steel were exported.
He said that in the period, imports to the country stood at dlrs 10.959 billion, showing a 28.5 percent increase compared to the corresponding period the previous year.
He added that dlrs 1.56 billion worth of industrial machinery and dlrs 1.061 billion worth of iron ware were imported.
The official put the number of customs offices active in Iran at 158, and said 200,000 people are engaged in import and 140,000 others in export affairs.
