Iran lost to South Korea in its first match in the second round of the 12th Asia-Pacific Men's volleyball Championships in Tianjin, China on Monday, IRNA reported.
The Koreans humbled Iran in three consecutive sets as it won 25-15, 25-18, 37-35.
Iran has already defeated Qatar, Japan, and New Zealand in the preliminary games.
India is the next rival of Iran on Tuesday.
Eight advance into Asian volleyball quarterfinals
Eight teams booked berths in the quarterfinals of the Asia-Pacific Men's Volleyball Championships IRNA reported from Tianjin, China on Sunday.
China and Kazakhstan of group A, India and South Korea of group B, Australia and Pakistan of group C, and Iran and Japan of group D vaulted into the last eight.
In group A, Kazakhstan crushed the Saudi Arabian side 3-1. South Korea won the group B match against Bahrain 3-0 and India overcame the Thais 3-1.
The group C-bound Aussies narrowly defeated Taiwan 3-2. In group D, Iran thrashed the Kiwis 3-1 and Nippon demolished Qatar 3-0.
Iran meets South Korea Monday afternoon (local time). Fifteen teams from Asia and Oceania have participated in the event.
