Former South African President Nelson Mandela said on Thursday that the Islamic Revolution and the reform program of President Mohammad Khatami played very significant role in neutralizing the anti-Iran propaganda campaign, IRNA reported.
In a meeting with Iranian president's wife Mrs Zohreh Sadeqi, Mandela conveyed his warmest greetings to Supreme leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Mohammad Khatami.
"I witnessed development in Iran with regards to women`s status during my visit to the country," the South African charismatic leader said.
Lambasting the US antagonism against Iran`s nuclear program in the context of national five-year economic development plan, he said the US has not the right to interfere in others` national affairs. The United Nations is the only reliable body to resolve international issues and challenges, he said.
President`s wife, for her part, conveyed the warm greetings of President Mohammad Khatami to Mandela and praised the former South African president who has dedicated his life for freedom of his nation and fought against racism.
Zohreh Sadeqi is now in Johannesburg at the invitation from President Thabo Mbeki`s wife.
She is scheduled to confer with the South African President Thabo Mbeki, his wife as well as a number of South African MPs on Tehran-Pretoria cooperation.
