The Iran Customs Administration in a report has stressed that Iran's caviar has sold at 586.5 dollars a kilogram in global markets over a period of five months starting March 21, adding that this indicated an increase of 40 dollars compared to the same period last year, IRNA reported from Tehran.
The Persian-language newspaper `Abrar-e Eqtesadi` quoted the administration report as saying that the value of each kilogram of Iran's caviar stood at 536.5 dollars over a period of three months starting March 21.
The report added that Iran had exported some six tons of caviar over the five-month period, and that this indicated a drop of 10 percent compared to last year.
It also stressed that the total value of the caviar exports had reached to as high as 3.519 million dollars over the period, and that this indicated a 7.9 percent drop compared to last year.
