Iraq is ready to cooperate with Iran in
establishment of railroad network between the two neighboring
countries, Iraqi Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication
Bahnam Ziya Bulis said in Baghdad on Sunday, IRNA reported.
Speaking at a meeting with Iran's Charge d'affaires to Baghdad
Ali-Reza Haqiqian, Ziya Bulis described Iran and Iraq as two brothers
feeling great respect for each other.
He further referred to Iraq's new policy and approach for having
wide cooperation with all regional states, and stressed the need for
establishment of a joint committee for realizing the two sides'
interests in transportation field.
The minister also expressed Iraq's readiness for close relations
between the two countries' ports.
Haqiqian, in response, explained Tehran's foreign policy towards
Iraq and said that Iran is ready to cooperate with the Iraqi
transitional government in all arenas.
He reminded transportation agreements concluded between Iran and
Iraq during the former Iraqi regime and called on the two sides to
implement the projects.
