The director general in charge of exports at the Ministry of Industries and Mines said in Tehran on Monday that some 1.414 million dollars worth of industrial and mineral commodities were exported in the first five months of the current Iranian year of 1382 (started March 21), IRNA reported.
Ahmad Qassemi told IRNA that the figures for export show a 1.8 percent increase in terms of weight and an 18.6 percent rise in terms of value compared to the figures in the similar period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, carry-on luggage and border exports totaled 21.1 and 246 million dollars respectively.
He added that industrial and mineral products accounted for 69.2 percent of the exported non-oil commodities during the said period, stressing that the export of industrial and mineral products had grown by 22.5 percent in the month of Mordad (July 23 - August 22).
