Lizard, directed by Kamal Tabrizi and produced by Manouchehr Mohammadi, will be screened in Tehran on April 21, IRNA reported.
Mohammadi told IRNA here Friday that some major developments were responsible for the postponement in the screening of the movie, which was originally scheduled for screening at Tehran Esteghlal cinema on March 18, 2004.
"Although the film already had the permit to go on screen from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, it was decided to screen it after the mourning months of Moharram and Safar on account of its humorous nature," he added.
In response to a question on possible changes that have been made on the film prior to its public screening, he said that besides a few minor changes in the dialogues which could have caused misunderstanding in the meaning sought to be conveyed to the audience, the film will be screened exactly as it was premiered during the 22nd International Fajr Film Festival.
"The efforts of the officials from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in charge of cinematic affairs were quite effective in facilitating the ground for the screening of the film.
"Despite the delay in showing the film, the contracts signed by various cinemas for its screening with the film's makers remain valid," he added.
'Lizard ' attracted the attention of about 94 percent of the audience attending the 22nd International Fajr Film Festival.
The 'Crystal Phoenix' was adjudged best film by the jury in the competition, but the 'Lizard' caught the eye of viewers. The movie, with a social theme and a humorous approach, tells the story of a thief.
