Berlin, Apr 6, IRNA -- German transportation ministry and railway company officials here Tuesday said there are no plans for the construction of a Tehran-Berlin cargo train railway link.
"I am not aware of any plans for such a railway connection which would link Tehran and Berlin via Russia," a spokeswoman for the German railway company Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) told IRNA here Tuesday in a brief interview.
Meanhwile a spokesperson for the German Transportation Ministry also denied the existence of imminent plans for such a railway connection.
Iranian media had earlier quoted the Russian News Agency a saying that the first Tehran-Berlin cargo trains would become operational in August 2005 as part of the North-South corridor railway link.
