Tehran, April 7, IRNA -- A German painter, Gerhard Rischter, and an Iranian artist, Mohsen Vaziri, will stage an exhibition of their paintings at Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMCA) in mid-spring, a report received Wednesday said.
Rischter, whose painting style has left a very deep impact on German contemporary art, will showcase over 25 paintings in two galleries.
The art works of Rischter to be exhibited at TMCA consists of paintings from various periods of the artist's lifetime. They are samples of different styles such as formalism and abstract as well as Offset and Siba Chrome printing.
Rischter was born in 1932. Besides painting, he teaches art at major German and Canadian academies.
The exhibit has been organized in close cooperation with a German cultural research body, the IFA or Institute for Auslandsbeziehungen Foundation.
Meanwhile, another Iranian painter, Yaqoub Emdadian, who has organized an exhibition of Vaziri Moqaddam's painting, told IRNA: "Over 100 statues and paintings from Moqaddam will be showcased in five TMCA galleries."
The Iranian artist has been involved in painting and sculpture since the 1950s. In addition, he has been teaching art and his name is familiar to art fans.
According to Emdadian, the art show will run for 45 days. A book on the collection of showcased art works have been published.
