Shiraz, Fars Prov, April 24, IRNA -- Two earthquakes measuring 4.2 and 3.7 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the city of Zarrindasht, in the southern province of Fars.

According to the seismological base of Fars province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the first tremor shook the city at 23:56 hours local time (19.56 hours GMT) Friday night while the second hit the city at 6:44 hours local time (02.14 hours GMT) Saturday morning.

There were no reports of any damage or casualties caused by the tremors.
