MPO head says Iranian economy likely to grow by over 8 percent during 4th development plan
Tehran, April 27, IRNA -- Head of the Management and Planning Organization Mohammad Sattarifar said here Monday that the national economy could grow by over 8 percent during the years covered by the Fourth Economic, Social and Cultural Development Plan (2005-2010).

He made the assessment while defending the bill on the proposed plan in the Iranian parliament.

He said the Fourth Five-Year Development Plan would definitely serve the objectives of the "20-Year Vision Plan" of the country.

He said the fourth plan was prepared taking into account an array of national concerns such as security, which implies all-out and sustainable security, renovation, efficiency in government and laying the groundwork for further development.
