Tehran, April 28, IRNA -- Some 1.1 billion dollars worth of
agricultural goods have been exported from the country during the last
Iranian year of 1382 (ending on March 19, 2004).
Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mohammad-Ali Tahmasebi told
IRNA here Tuesday that pistachio, fruits of cold regions, saffron and
raisin are among important agricultural goods exported from the
country.
Iran exported 803 million dollars worth of pistachio last year,
showing a 60 percent increase compared to similar period of the
previous year, he added.
He said Iran enjoys high potentials to export agricultural
produce, noting support for producing units and export transportation
terminals would boost the export of such goods.
Tahmasebi stated that Iran produces over 14 million tons of
agricultural goods annually.
