Mashhad, Khorassan Prov, April 28, IRNA -- A minor earthquake,
measuring 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale rattled the town of Qaen,
in this northeastern province Tuesday night.
The seismological base of Tehran University's Geophysics institute
said the tremor, epicentered at eastern border line of Iran and
Afghanistan, occurred at 22:49 hours local time (1819 GMT).
There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to
property caused by the quake.
Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic
fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
